Malala, the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner

17 year old activist and advocate, Malala Yousafzai is the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. She survived 3 gunshots wounds to her head by the Taliban in 2012 as she was getting on a bus in Pakistan. Malala has been actively campaigning for educational rights of girls since she was 11 years old. She has also received numerous awards including the Nation Youth Peace Prize, the Mother Theresa Memorial Award for Social Justice, and the Harvard Foundation’s Peter Gomes Humanitarian Award.
Malala shares the award with Kailash Satyarthi, an Indian child rights activist, he started the Save the Childhood Movement, an organization which campaigns for child rights and an end to human trafficking.

Malala currently lives in the UK and attends high school. The Malala Fund is a non profit organization that provides educational support to girls. Screen Shot 2014-10-12 at 12.15.14 PM
