Fresh Kid Nation is a website dedicated to current children’s fashion, style trends and news about the children’s fashion industry. I realized there is a shortage of web content that showcased modern children’s wear or celebrated the burgeoning style of fashionable babies, toddlers, tweens and teens. Whenever I take my 8 year old son, MJ out in New York City, people always compliment him on his signature hats. While tutoring and teaching in Brooklyn I’m usually impressed by the fashion sense of children I meet. So it made sense to me to develop Fresh Kid Nation, a site where kids can see what Blue Ivy is rocking and where parents can showcase their little trend setters and learn about upcoming children’s designers and trends.
I have been involved in the fashion industry since I was 14 years old. I attended Fashion Industries High School in NYC and Graduated from Syracuse University in 2006. I have previously interned at Gotham Magazine, Teen People, Worth Inc, Benartex Inc and blogged for MTVU in the past.
I owned a small costume design business and worked exclusively with children for the past 4 years. Some of my clients are MainStages, International Playthings, The Children’s Acting Academy, FAO Schwartz and Toys R Us Times Square. I currently teach in Brooklyn at a charter school and earned a Dual Masters in Education and Special Education.
Fresh Kid Nation has contributing writers in London, England and Atlanta, Georgia. We cover kids fashion events in these markets and hope to have bloggers in most major cities around the globe by 2019.
